"Beep" function causing IE 6 to crash

I am experiencing a problem with chat in IE 6. When I try to "beep" someone I get the message

"A general Error has occurred

https://moodle.dcu.ie/mod/chat/beep.wav"


Followed by:

"Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library

Runtime error!

Program C;//Programfiles/InternetExplorer/IEXPLORE.exe

R6025 pure function call"


IE then crashes.

Does anyone know what might be causing this?

Possibly something screwy on your Windows box ... the HTML is as simple as can be:
