Does moodle care what encryption (CRYPT,MD5,...) the passwords are in in ldap?

If so what is the default it wants?

thanks in advance.

More than caring what encryption is used to store password in the LDAP server, Moodle cares if you need to send them encrypted in a certain way to the LDAP server when you are setting a new password (or changing an existing one).

There is no default, as different LDAP servers use different ways of doing it. You'll need to have a look at your LDAP server documentation to find out what you need.
