I was wondering if there was any way to send an e-mail to every student who is enrolled in a course? I can't seem to figure this out. It would be helpful if I needed to cancel class and needed to inform them.
Also, I presented this to my class, and one individual failed to follow through with the registration e-mail, meaning he never logged in. His user account is there, but when I view his profile...I see this: Last access:
Thursday, 1 January 1970, 05:00 AM (11935 days 9 hrs)
Any insight to this?
To post to everyone just post a new topic to the "News" forum. By default the News forum should be set so that everyone is "subscribed" to it, so they'll all get a copy in their mail.
When you say you've viewed his profile, I'm assuming that you found his name in the Admin list of users, but that his name does not appear in the list of course participants and that he has not enrolled in your course yet ... is that right?
The date you see is a "zero" date for most computers - all the dates in Moodle are stored as seconds from this point in time. It just means he has not confirmed his account yet via the email and has never used his account.

Yes, I did find his name in the User List, but not enrolled in the course. I just expected to see something there like "Last Access: Never", rather than "Last Access: 'some date in 1970'".
Thanks for your response, and your advice about posting to the news forum.

Of course. I've fixed it in CVS and it will be in the next release.
Cheers!
