Missing image links when restoring courses in Moodle 1.8

We have just installed 1.8 as a fresh installation and now want to move and restore the courses from 1.6 on it.

So far all of the text and content restores perfectly including images files used in labels, however links are being broken on all images.

Any ideas

As far as I understand this, this is due to absolute links being required in Moodle rather than relative. I have reported this as a bug in moodle bug tracker and people could probably go there to vote for this ticket.
