Uploading an edited file with the same name

Does anyone have this problem? If I link to a Word document from a Moodle page and then want to replace the document with an updated, edited version, Moodle still hangs on to the original and won't let me replace it unless I completely change the name and then the link.  I've tried forced refresh but nothing seems to change.  Has anyone got a solution?

Safest solution is to change the name of the file (adding date of change to name works fine). I think there could be problems with user's local cache (IE is known for its cache problems) or some proxies cache problems etc.
Maybe someone else has better aproach.
