I have uploaded a scorm package that includes a 24Mb video which is a .flv file.
The video runs in the Scorm package through a .swf file.
The same Video and Scorm file is running in another VLE (digitalbrain) on a third party server.
When running the video in Moodle it takes 3 minutes of download before the video will begin to play, at this point it still has another 3 minutes of downloading to do before the whole file is down.
When running the same video on the other VLE these times are half of what I'm experiencing on the Moodle site.
In both cases I've tested using a 1Mb and 4Mb broadband connection.
My host says that checking the firewall that this Modle application is behind, he is seeing a peak of 10Mbps total (inbound and outbound).
Is there some server and or Moodle optimisation I should be looking at that can speed up my video download?
