I have one of several classes, with only a few things in it (since I teach it in person). It's 16 weeks. After about week 11, anything I post (i've been testing with resources) is only visible in the category view, but not on the main page.
Bothered by this, I did some experimentation. By adding weeks and moving them around, I could get the missing items to "surface" - it's as portions of the weeks/sections exist but isn't displaying, hiding the items with it.
This is not a show-stopper, as classes are almost over- but I'm worried about corruption, and finding the bug to fix for all in the future.
Can any of you gurus out there tell me what info I can provide to you for you to steer me on how to debug? I don't have admin rights to the system, but in the past have been able to figure out a good amount by looking and URL's and cutting and pasting ID's...
I've enabled guest access to secure2.cpcc.edu/moodle the course is ITN160 (search on 160). Notice that all the later sections have no additions (though the text is there) but if you go to the resources category view you see a bunch of stuff - you can sense my frustration by the spelling of the stuff....
This is my most sparsely populated course (since it's not offered really online - just used to store notes and such) so it can't be the size issue. The database corruption on the other hand it could be. It's almost like the link between the section/week and the things it holds got corrupted. Since I'm not the admin, and he's busy without official mandate as to how/when to help this may be tricky.
Any suggestions how a layman can pursue this?
if you don't have admin rights, then backup that course, restore it on you local desktop.
Check if the problem persist. If not restore it on your server. If so then test Sbigniew recommandation.
It will also be possible to check your database locally with MySql Admin.
That way you will have better diving tools
p.s. It is funny to see an ASP course driven by an PHP platform
When I look at the course homepage, I see there is a resource in week 13 and 15. When I click on Resource in the Activities block, this is exactly what I see listed. Should there be something else listed?
I posted the link to ITN160 instead of ITN180 - where the problem is.
Can you guys take another look?
Notice that there is a quiz (created to make this point) but you can only see it from the quiz list, even though I added it on the last week.
