Since upgrading to a 1.8 v two days ago we are having difficulty logging on to our courses. It takes some students up to 30 mins to gain access. Everything was working perfectly before the upgrade. Now the site has become unusable. One person is able to log on and navigate but it is slow. However, 30 students logging on brings the system to its knees. I am wondering if I should just uninstall 1.8 and go back to 1.6. Has anyone else had a similar problem?

Look through the forums...you will see a lot of similar problems. Assuming you have a backup, then rolling back is your best bet, in my opinion.
