I would be interested in hearing how folks integrated Moodle into their existing data systems. What sorts of data sharing between/among systems you do and how?
I would especially like to hear from small institutions who aren't blessed with a high-powered technie who can write all sorts of wonderful things for you.
I don't know much about Moodle, but what I do know seems to suggest that it has a student table and a course table and a student+course table (i.e. registration). Often institutions have this data elsewhere and, it seems, some redundancy is required.
What steps have you taken to reduce the redundancy (i.e. three systems, for example, requiring a student file)? What have you been able to do to keep the systems in realtime synch?
Any specific information would be greatly appreciated.
