School administration within moodle?

School administration within moodle?

Hi,

we are a small language school and we're using moodle 1.4 for e-learning and for administration tasks.

We would like to have an interface within moodle where teachers could easily report their lessons and travel costs and so on.

Clients should be given the possibility to check on their classes, too

Does anybody know a reasonable way to integrate this features into moodle?

Thank you,

Martin

1.4 is pretty old. Backup everything and then upgrade to 1.6...or better yet, set-up a separate 1.6 site and take a look around.

The database module may address your need for reporting. I'm not sure what you mean by "clients should be given possibility to check on their classes." They should already be able to do that, but there are several way to give access to a class in 1.6....I can't remember what was available in 1.4

What ever you do, don't go past 1.6 or you'll just get frustrated...my opinion.

Clients checking on classes can be achieved using roles and capabilities in >1.7

'report their lessons' is a bit ambiguous - not sure what you mean. You could use the internalmail system if you mean sending reports on how they went to another person, or the database modules could keep track of events over time...
