Is it possible to generate questions randomly in Moodle.
I have a set of 10 questions and everytime student takes the test, he must get different questions. Do we need an external plugin for this?

You can have a pool of different questions (50 questions), and let moodle chose 10 ramdom from it.. The option is available under editing questions
Add 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 random questions 
You can also create categories of questions..

Random questions can be of any question-type (T/F, MC, etc.). After you have created your questions and they are stored in a question bank (i.e. category), when you go to add questions to a quiz activity you will notice at the bottom of the screen a drop down box to add a specific number of random questions from the currently selected question bank. I believe Random questions have been around for a while (at least version 1.6 - possibly 1.5 but I don't recall). You should be fine with 1.7.
