We use them together Moodle and Typo3, sharing the same LDAP, so integrating would be a nice next step
And my favorit candidate to integrate Moodle with a student portal is Xoops2
(Although I am on my way back: Why not give students an option to insert ToDOs in the sections of each of their Moodle-courses and offer them the overview in the calendar, not an extra application to learn..)
WAMP quickstart 3.6 ORC -2 a zip file of about 21 MB is a quick installer installs Apche, MySQL, MyPhpAdmin and PHP in a window based local machine. From the start button acessing typo3 in the programs, Apache and MySQL be started. By clicking the server button Typo3 will be started in your browser. The backend and the modules section may be the place to load the Moodles. In the Linux the Typo3 images are not loading properly. You may be able to integrate typo3 and moodle without any difficulty.

../moodle/login/index.php file
the user is not logged on.
do i have to redirect it to some other page.
which is the page where i can redirect such that the details which are passed from typo3 i.e. username sessions of moodle and typo3 and more information can be just checked in that particular moodle file so that the user is logged in.
plz help
I start to do a module to integrate Moodle in Xoops 2.0.6.
(Sorry, i don't speak english very well, i'm french )
Why do you like Xoops, Jerome?
Rick
First, I can manage it easily.
Nothing is fixed.
Great flexibility of development for the added modules.
It is like the lego, you take a brick and you assemble with another.
The base is common to other site, but the result is very personal.
I use it for a groupware in a company of formation.
The trainers are not at the same place and must have access to all the documents of the company.
Trainers and students have both access to the groupware.
The users make party of various groups which have different rights of access to the site.
Information available is not the same one for all the groups.
I use these modules :
- News
- WebMail (Only connection, for security raison, the webmail is not in Xoops)
- Chat
- Forum (IPB)
- Calendar (compatible with iCal in Mozilla Calendar)
- Addresses
- Web Links
- Download
- Tutorials
- Glossaries
- FAQ
And now Moodle 1.2.1 (Moodle4Xoops V1)
This is tools of communication and exchange.
I hope that you understood me, I do not speak English well.
It is very simple !!
I think if we carry on with this conversation,(it depends on you, but I would like to discuss this further) we better not do it here because we are a long way off topic and someone is going to give us a slap!
Thank you

You can donwload it here :
http://www.e-novateach.com/xoops_download/moodle4Xoops206_v1.zip (7.6Mo)
http://www.e-novateach.com/xoops_download/moodle4Xoops206_v1.tar.bz2 (4,6Mo)
Read the file moodle4xoops.txt before installation
There is still work, but this version is ok.
Jerome,
Do you have a working site where moodlers can first see and test this Moodle4Xoops integration, before they actually install it?
I send the address of the official demo site of Moodle4Xoops when it is installed.
http://www.e-novateach.com/demo
You can try Moodle4Xoops and use the forum.
Good work, really but can I make a suggestion to you ?
Even if MOODLE4XOOPS works fine, it could be designed more like a XOOPS module.
Now, your module include a complete version of Moodle to install in the Module folder of XOOPS.
It could be good to have a module only providing a link to an existing Moodle.
(Note: The Moodle module for PostNuke (named pnMoodle) uses that way. I suggest you to have a look on it.)
It means, separating XOOPS module code and MOODLE code.
That way is also easier for people already having an existing MOODLE or to support MOODLE updates.
I hope this will help you to make this module a wonderful module
Best regards,
Stéphane
BUT, it is a good idea to leave the choice to the user.
I tried to install PostNuke, but it never functioned. It is not as simple as Xoops. I could not test the module for Moodle.
For the moment I cannot separate the code from Xoops and Moodle.
I received a mail of Martin Dougiamas to see how to make.
I keep you informed!
I have successfully implemented moodle4xoops both at the local server and the web server. Your comment on PostNuke I fully endorse. I hope you are aware of the recent developents in xoops sphere. Xoops metamorphised into e-xoops http://www.runcms.org/public/modules/news/
The present combination of ecommerce with xoops may be of use to integrate payment gateways and shopping cart (the moodle for business use). I request you to examine the possibility of modifying your moodle4xoops to coexist with this new avatar of xoops.

Dear Jérôme Baudin , Stéphane Buchmann
I really like Xoops because it is so easy to use, very Japanese language compatible since the main programmer is Japanese and seems to be as powerful as the nukes. It really is a sleek piece of software. I could not get postnuke to work either, but that was a long time ago.
I agree with Stephanie however that, so long as you are using a whole Moodle as a Xoops module then it is going to be difficult for us who are using Moodle already independently. It will also mean that each time Moodle is updated there will need to be another version (I am using 1.3) If there were some sort of module that would simply provide a bridge between two installations then that would be ideal.
I would very much like a module to link Moodle for Xoops.
