Errors on Upgrade: Safe Mode again and Fatal memory errors

Hello!

I just upgraded from 1.0.1 to 1.2 (gasp) and had a decent time of it, made backups and all that; great docs on it. However, a few things have cropped up and I don't see them in the existing discussions.

One, I have this error across the top of the page:

Warning: set_time_limit(): Cannot set time limit in safe mode in /var/www/html/Lyceum/admin/upgradelogs.php on line 23

I had issues with Safe Mode before, but they were resolved by my hosting company. Not sure why they have reappeared. :/

Also, in the Recent Activity box in the courses I get this:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 8388608 bytes exhausted at (null):0 (tried to allocate 71 bytes) in /var/www/html/Lyceum/mod/workshop/lib.php on line 336

Also not sure, never seen this one and I don't even use the Workshop module currently.

Thanks for any help you can offer! My first upgrade of moodle.

Never mind, the handy Glossary has pointed me to a workable solution of deleting modules I don't use.

I would delete my post, but the first question is still alively kicking me in the head. ;)
