I am trying to set Moodle up on a 'free website host' server - since our website does not support mysql or php scripts. I have tried two services - both claim that they support mysql, etc. One was quite successful, but failed because the version of their mysql was only just less than what was required:
But now I think that I have a better service - however a totally new problem has arisen! When installing, everything is fine apart from telling the installation program where the 'data directory' is. The website is at http://www.zendurl.com/bdown/moodle2/install.php. Using an FTP program I have created two folders - one is called moodle2 (where all files are located), and I thought that by placing another folder in the same place called 'moodledata' (cmod 755 is highest security allowed) I could pin point the installation program to there. However, I don't know what to enter under the data directory, since it says that 'The 'Data Directory' you specified could not be found or created. Either correct the path or create that directory manually' all of the time. Any suggestions?
Thank you very much!
