I downloaded 17-latest and have been experimenting with some algebra 2 material.

In an attempt to get a multiline formula into a single graphic, I wrote an \array{}{}. Ampersands are not being parsed correctly.

Example:

$$$ \begin{array}{cc} a & b \\ c & d \end{array} $$$

$$ \begin{array}{cc} a & b \\ c & d \end{array} $$

The parser attempts to change & to & before the TeX filter gets a hold of it. All my cells have "amp;" in them.

1. Does anyone have a workaround to get \array{}{} working?

2. Does anyone have another good way of aligning a multiline formula? (i.e. aligned on equal sign)

P.S. I noticed in my post here, it works! I propose two possible differences. Either this site is using newer or older revision of Moodle or that this is a forum post instead of webpage (as my original tests were).

Perhaps this thread can give you the answer to your first question (it worked for me):

2. The 'array' syntax should work ok then:

$$$\begin{array}{rcl} f(x) & = & \cos{x}\\ f'(x) & = & - \sin x\\ \int_{0}^{x} f({y}) dy & = & \sin{x} \end{array}$$$

$$\begin{array}{rcl} f(x) & = & \cos{x}\\ f'(x) & = & - \sin x\\ \int_{0}^{x} f({y}) dy & = & \sin{x} \end{array}$$

Best regards
