We had problem with the performance on moodle. We are running moold 1.7+, PHP is 5.2, database is postgres 8.1.5, they are running on Max OSX 10.4. The problem is if user register more course, the speed of login is much slower. For example, if I don't register any course, login takes me 5 seconds. If I register some course, login can take me around 15 to 20 seconds to get the course list page.
Another issue is we are running two moodle systems almost identical, one is on a production server, one is on development server. They have the same problems. But on the production server, when I login as admin, in the notification part, there is warning message saying 'the code you are using is older than the version that made these database. But it doesn't have this warning in development server.
With all the information, is there anyone can give some suggestions about how to improve the performance?
