Does anyone have an answer.
We renamed our server (i.e. changed hostname) and changed the relevant line in Moodle's config.php
// 2. WEB SITE LOCATION
$CFG->wwwroot = 'http://www.moodle.ait.ie/moodle';
and all was well afterwards.
