First of all you should create your tables with the Tamil collation and charset.

Then you should import your data with Tamil charset connection

And the display your data with Tamil Encoding.

Hello,

Thanks for your mail and your interest in helping Tamil translation.  Currently I work on the translation for Moodle 1.7.  Your help will be required to see whether the translation helps the user.

Better work that you can do will be to create a seperate language branch for Srilankan Tamil having a branch like ta_sl  I did some advise to your country for introducing School level content.  What we had in Indian Tamil was not suitable to Tamils in Srilanka.

It will be easy for you to modify the existing Tamil translation to suit to Srilankan Tamil. I will be able to help you and you will be able to help in Tamil translation for India.

I will be happy to know your views.  Please PM
