Re: Moodle.org is currently running 1.8 Betah, thats why I get an error every time
Sorry, but you need to be part of a group to see this forum.
The only access to all threads is via Recent Activity.
Is there a way to solve this, Martin?

Re: Moodle.org is currently running 1.8 Betah, thats why I get an error every time
I thought I'd fixed it yesterday right after the upgrade but had not. Sorry to everyone for the inconvenience!
That's why its soooo slooow
18 seconds to load this forum page for example.
And I'm in a UK university on a SuperJanet network - i.e. massive bandwidth.

Seriously, that's the type of effect that we want to detect in order to be able to improve and fix everything before final release. Upgrading moodle.org before release uses to be a perfect experience (real big test server) to polish things and to make stable as rock-solid as possible.
Anyway, that's near nothing without feedback from moodlers so, thanks to everybody for collaborating by adding all sort of 1.8 related reports to http://tracker.moodle.org
Ciao
P.S.: And must be moving really fast... I'm able to load this page in just 3-4 secs without any SuperRequeton-like network.
http://tracker.moodle.org/browse/MDL-8777
I like this new language system: no matter which language you have selected to be your site default language moodle tries to use your browser default language (the first of them) and if your browser default language is not among site languages moodle gives you your profile language or site default language. If you don't want to use browser default language (it can be changed from browser settings) use language menu to select a different language. Works for me! (at first I was really surprised...)
But it really has a bug with en and en_us as you told - selecting en_us gives en. This same problem happens with all parent languages.
...and Petr just fixed it...Thanks!
This might explain why I have received my daily digest in German, thus circumventing my carefully prepared rules.

I got a german digest too, but the page is loading quickly today.
*(I did check a number of other sites yesterday and it was only moodle.org that was pretending to be 56k dial-up)

But there seems to be a problem on moodle.org since this upgrade : the ability for everyone to choose the mail charset (allowusermailcharset) has been desactivated
It would be nice if reactivated
