Dear All,

I have a problem with my computer where, not long after I start my computer up, I am subjected to a port scan by an ip address I have traced back to the domain BLACKHOLE-1.IANA.ORG. After the scan (which is picked up by my firewall), my browser and mail program can no longer connect to the Internet. Does anybody have any idea what this blackhole thing is and how I can stop this happening?

Best regards,

James Phillips

Thanks Bill! It turns out that I had a trojan trying to hijack my computer for mail spamming purposes. Managed to quash it with SPYBOT. What an excellent piece of free software that is. Can't say that "Norton Internet Security" lived up to it's name though. It turned out to be no use whatsoever.
