Hi,

I installed Moodle 1.7+ and the needed TeX tools under Linux on two machines. One is running SuSE 9.2 the other one SuSE 10.0.

Apart from the fact that Moodle installed fluently on 9.2 and not on 10.0, I finally managed to get them run.

Starting the TeX and Algebra filter brought another two different results: on the 9.2 machine the Algebra filter works on the other it does not.

On both machines the TeX filter works, but the filter setup is different. On 9.2 I use the standard values for the TeX filter, on 10.0 I have to remove the TeX headers. More crazy: If I use the standard values, each time I call the filter configuration, I get an additional leading backslash in the value field for the header.

Furthermore: The TeX conversion on both machines does not work as expected and written here:

http://moodle.hughesmark.com/mod/glossary/view.php?id=268&mode=&hook=ALL&sortkey=&sortorder=&fullsearch=0&page=-1

The errors I noted:

1) Matrices show up with an amp; between the columns.

2) \bigrod is not known.

I will try to find out more differences, but it would be nice is someone could give me a hint where to look at.

Thanks

Karl

### TeX and Algebra filter problems

Number of replies: 1### Re: TeX and Algebra filter problems

Hi,

Is there any solution for the problem with the matrices showing up with an amp; between the columns?

I have the same problem and I do not know how to solve it, I think this is a configuration problem, maybe there is something wrong with the Tex filter.

Any help will be more than welcome,

thanks,

Manuel.
