So, I have a clue: it's a Firefox issue. Simply typing the URL with Safari in the HTML editor is enough to have it automatically converted in a link when sending the post. With Firefox instead the link is considered as simple text, so no clicking possible.
I'm surprised I couldn't find posts on this issue (which I consider a real annoyance and should be very common since Firefox is very broadly used) in this forum nor in the HTML editor one, but maybe I just didn't search well enough.
