In the glossary module I have having big trouble in getting students to add entries.
The glossary I have establish is a "secondary" one and I have also allowed students to add entries in it's set up options.
Trouble is that when I log in as a student I don't get an option to edit... of course, when I log in as an teacher, I do?
Any moodle help would be appreciated.
But I could be wrong!
They can add comments, though, if you have turned on that option.
If a student logs in, they should be able to add an entry to the glossary - I thought Moodle allowed them to do so????
I only want them to create glossary entries and edit those they have created.
I am using a secondary glossary, have switch on students can and and still no joy??
First, what version of Moodle are you running; I presume it's at least 1.2x developer. In your Glossary set up properties do you have the Default approval status set to "Yes".
If you click the help bubble (?) next to this setting you should see:
If you have the Default approval status set to Yes, as illustration shows, you (the teacher) must approve any student entry to the Glossary before it can be viewed by course participants. If you are logging in as a student and expect to edit another students entry, I don't think the Glossary works this way. You can only edit your own entries I believe.
Hope this helps,
