Roles and permissions

Because i had been experiencing some issues with my previous 1.6 version of Moodel i decided I should upgrade.. plus i wanted the new roles feature.

I have upgraded to 1.7, and generally everything (minus a few mods) works fine.. However the fonts in the assign roles section are completely unintelligble..

I am running a multilingual site with Japanese, CHinese, korean and naturally English. so perhaps this is an issue.

I have re-installed to make sure it wasnt a simple one off error, but with the same outcome

i have attached a screenshot for you all... please help. I have 1300 students relying on this site..

ps. I am running Mysql 4.1.21 Php 4.4.4 on a linux Apache 1 server if that helps at all.
