Sorting Forum views

Is there a way to sort the forum view, i.e. the discussion topics, in ways other than the automated last posting? It would be useful for large student groups to change view and sort alphabetically by who's started a topic.

Another wish from our staff is the possibility of exporting all topics from one forum in one go into a text editor. Is there a way or a plugin for this?

I've got faculty with the same question about sorting the forum view. I found a developer forum where they spoke about adding this feature, but it was posted back in October, so I'm not sure how far it's gone. I might see if I can implement it myself. We actually would like to sort by the name of the person who posted, but it's all part of the same problem. Wolfgang, have you had any luck with this?

Wolfgang, did you ever get an answer on Sorting Forum Views? It seems crazy to allow the order of the forums to dynamically reshuffle themselves everytime someone records a post.
