Sorry, I don't have the answer.But I have a similar problem and was hoping that you would would get a reply from someone who knows.
My problem:
I have a couple of pages about alpha and beta glucose or the alpha helix or beta pleated sheets.
Run straight from all the usual browsers they display as alpha and beta.
Inside Moodle in any browser they display as a and b.
Any suggestions gratefully received.
