I'm glad you like it. My filter doesn't do any newline->br conversions - it's Moodle auto-format doing that. Also my math filters aren't really meant to process multiline formulas. MimeTeX, the TeX->gif backend I am using, is a lightweight version of TeX not designed for such heavy duty use.
