The problem your having is caused by the SELinux config on your fedora install not allowing the server to make a http request to itself.

I can't remember the config setting that needs to be changed, sorry! However disbaling SE Linux should resolve the issue, once your sure thats the issue I'd recommend playing with the SE Linux config to find the setting that will solve this issue.
