I am running XAMP (moodle 1.6) with windows 2000 server
I have tried everything suggested in
http://docs.moodle.org/en/Cron
to schedule the cron script daily but nothing seems to be working
Can any body please help?

I assume you have downloaded the moodle-cron-for-windows, you have installed it and it runs properly?
Have you checked the following?
Is the moodle-cron service running?
Have you gone into the Windows 2000 event viewer to see if the moodle-cron is giving out messages, errors, etc?
