Dependancy between Lessons

Hi to everyone!

I'm testing Moodle for course setting, but I cannot understand how can I connect the next  lesson with the previous one if the condition for this, is to complete succesfully a linked quiz? More specifically what I want to do, is to go to the next lesson only after I' ve finished the previous one with it's non-graded questions and its added link to a graded quiz.In the lesson settings I cannot find an appropriate condition for this. The type of the course format is by topic. 

Any help will be much appriciated,

Conditional activities are not currently in the main moodle distribution. I believe such functionality is due to be delivered in Moodle 1.7 later this year. I may be wrong on the 1.7 thing, you can read a summary of Martin Dougiamas's comments at

Another way to get conditional paths through material is via the Lesson module.

Conditional activities are in the lesson module, for 1.6, howeversmile. A lesson can control the availability of another lesson, though not a quiz or other activity.

I added a brief section on Dependency and Linking to the Moodle docs, needs to be worked on by someone better at the wiki format than I.

Marcus is correct.  Activity Locking is the addin which should meet your needs.  If you go to Activity Locking in MoodleDocs  you will probably get a better idea of what is current.

V 1.6 does have several possible dependency setting for a lesson (see lesson settings).  Here is one of my dumb ideas for a work around.  Create a lesson that has nothing but graded questions as a lesson quiz (LQ).   Now you can make the next lesson dependent upon the lesson quiz.  Thus a course has say L1, L2, L3, LQ1, L4, L5, L6, Quiz, end of course.  Each Lesson would have a dependency upon the one before it. 

Activity locking is similar but it works on all activities in a course, not just a lesson.  It is not part of the standard Moodle, Lesson dependency is in Version 1.6.
