Can the Course categories be broken down more?

Hi

I am currently co Admin on my College Moodle. and a question has been raised about breaking down the course Selection options so that it is easier for students to locate their course.

Currently our moodle course selection setup is standard with no changes

  • Adult Learning
  •          Course Name

what would be needed if we to add a third or fourth option within the selection.

  • Adult Learning      
  •              Course Area
  •                          Course A
  •                          Course B
  •                          Course C<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

This is actually easy to do, tho it is not immediately intuitive.

Create your Course A, Course B, Course C, &c. within your Category "Course Area".

Now create your empty category "Adult Learning"

Finally,  on the Course Categories page with Editing on, move Category "Course Area" into your Category "Adult Learning", using the "Move category to" drop-down menu.

You can easily nest several levels in this manner.
