editorkillword query

When configuring the HTML editor (1.6), there is an editorkillword option:
"This setting enables or disables Word-specific format filtering."

I have searched the forums but can find no more information about this option. Can anyone shed any light for me on what it is for? (I don't understand the descriptor.)

Many thanks,

Hi Jenny,

When word-document is converted to html format ( or when you copy 'n' paste from word to htmleditor ), word puts a lot of unecessary and "trashy" code within that html format. This option, when enabled is trying to clean that code as well as it can.

Thanks, Janne, that makes perfect sense! I didn't realise that this was referring to Microsoft Word - I failed to notice the capital 'W' - hence my confusion.
