The backup was successful when I deselected Quiz.
Then I tried selecting only the Quiz to backup and it would not work. It stopped just like it did previously.
Now what do I do to backup my quizzes so that I can import them into my 1.6 moodle? I have a large number of questions that need to be imported along with the quizzes.
