No, I do not think it is possible to hide it if you are going to use a scale. You might consider dropping the scale and electing to just use "1" as the maximum grade and tell your students 1=complete. That is the only way I know of to avoid the summary. The summary is meant to give more detailed information when a forum requires multiple posts from each student; if your assignment doesn't require that, it might not be as useful to rate with a scale.
