Good morning,
I am interested in finding a partner to participate in
the project concerning promotion, dissemination and
exploitation (valorisation) of results for the use
of ICT in education, training lifelong learning in
Europe.
The European Parliament and the Council launched the
eLearning Programme (2004-2006) to improve the quality
and accessibility of European education and training
systems through the effective use of information and
communication technologies (ICT).
We would like to take in charge this project. We are
interested in subject one:
Digital Literacy
Digital literacy is one of the essential skills and
competences needed to take an active part in the
knowledge society and the new media culture. Digital
literacy concentrates on the acquisition of
capabilities and skills related to new technologies
which are required in a growing number of daily life
activities. Digital literacy also relates to media
literacy and social competence, as they have in common
objectives such as active citizenship and the
responsible use of ICT. In this context, the workshop
held by the European Commission in October 2005
concluded that exploitation and dissemination of
results from previous projects should be the next
priority.
The overall objective of the eLearning programme is to
support and develop further the effective use of ICT
in European education and training systems, as a
contribution to a quality education and an essential
element of their adaptation to the needs of the
knowledge society in a lifelong learning context.
The specific objectives of the programme are:
(a) to identify the actors concerned and inform them
of ways and means of using e-learning for promoting
digital literacy and thereby contribute to
strengthening social cohesion and personal development
and fostering intercultural dialogue;
(b) to exploit the potential of e-learning for
enhancing the European dimension in education;
(c) to provide mechanisms for supporting development
of European quality products and services, and for
exchanging and transferring good practices;
(d) to exploit the potential of e-learning in the
context of innovation in teaching methods with a view
to improving the quality of the learning process and
fostering the autonomy of learners.
This project aims to make a critical analysis of
results and experiences, to undertake comparative
analyses, and to disseminate the lessons learnt.
We would like to make theses analyses within some
different European institutions and after compare and
disseminate the lessons learnt. Create a website and
put all our comparative study for all institutions
which would like to use one day new technologies in
education. Thanks to our study it could help them to
avoid all mistakes and errors.
