Connecting two courses

There are use cases where the possibility to complete an activity in course A should trigger something in course B.

In our school, Moodle courses are created at the start of the school year and students can only officially be enrolled in these Moodle courses after the administration has processed several things (such as the study contract, the payment, ....)

Every year, students need to re-register and wait on this administrative process. We know that last-year senior students will get enrolled, and assigned to the appropriate Moodle courses but that is too late for apprenticeship goals.

Due to deadline restrictions, students need to search for an apprenticeship during summer holiday, when their Moodle accounts are in administrative limbo. Their regular courses have all finished, they are not yet assigned to the courses of the next school year (that do not even exist at that moment) where they need to upload their apprenticeship project description, their contract with the company where they will do the apprenticeship, etc ...

But they do need access to all templates and the students that quickly find a company during summer break want to upload their apprenticeship details as soon as possible. We as lecturers stimulate that because they can then start as soon as possible when the new schoolyear starts. So we use this 1 informational Moodle course we have where all students are participants (regardless of what year they are in, so freshmen as well as seniors are participants in that 1 course) to publish the necessary apprenticeship documentation and templates. And there is also an uploadzone for those documents.

The official enrollment in the correct Moodle course is AFTER the students have found a company and need to have dealt with the official documents. But once the official course is created and the students assigned, they have to upload the same stuff all over again in an exact copy of the uploadzone as in the informational course because otherwise we can not have restrictions on further activities in the definitive course base on which documents they have uploaded
