I was pleasantly surprised to see Moodle mentioned on Mark Shuttleworth's blog even though it was only really in the context of praising LAMS

For those that aren't aware, Shuttleworth is the founder/funder of Ubuntu the hottest new Linux distribution on the block, which has an education offshoot, called Edubuntu, focused on providing both server and client OS's for use in K-12 education across the globe (Moodle comes included, natch).
