Why would you want to? That is the only way you can edit the content....

I don't think this is a problem with "themes". Could it be that your site has an additional plugin to create a special "tabbed" format for courses ? If I'm right, then the standard course formats, without tabs, are probably available.
Please try looking in your course settings and see if other course formats are available, like weekly or by topics.

In fact, this Tab only appears when using Adaptable (V3.11) and none of the other themes have this.
