I am self-hosting an instance of Moodle 4 and I'm using the default Boost theme. I am a high school teacher and I'm using this instance of Moodle in class.
I would like to replace the profile picture (or initials) that is displayed on the right of the navbar when the students are connected by their first name and last name, which would allow me to learn their names while answering their questions.
I have seen this done in another Moodle (3) instance with a custom theme. However I don't know which is the easiest way to make this change, and I am not sure if the theme was how it was achieved in that case. I only want to make this small change, I am otherwise completely satisfied with the default Boost theme.
Could you give me pointers to how I could do this? Is making a custom theme the only option? Given that the change that I want is so small I have not yet read the whole theming documentation, just browsed it quickly and did not see at first glance how to solve this problem.
