subsequent courses

Hi

we want to offer courses on particular topics. The courses for a topic are subdivided in say beginner, advanced, master. So we want the students to attend the courses subsequently.  Non-the-less we want to offer them a "pre-view" of the courses to come. So the questions is wether it is possible to let the students see the say the advanced course partially with out being enrolled. Is it possible to let the see say the first 2 section including e.g. an introduction ? If say click further (3 section) we want to give them a hint saying for instance:

"please finish the beginner course"

Can we create something like that in Moodle ?

Any suggestions, hints, idea etc. are welcome...

Best,

Noam

Hi Noam,

There may be a few plugins that are of interest for this challenge:

If you use the Subcourse plugin (https://moodle.org/plugins/mod_subcourse), you can create a portal course with access links to all linked courses (basic, advanced, master). Since this is an activity module, you can apply regular Restrict access rules to these activities.

If you also create URLs for the courses so the participants can preview a course, once you enabled Guest access to the course. This would allow the users to at least see part of the content.

If you want to enroll users in following courses, consider the Course completed enrolment method (https://moodle.org/plugins/enrol_coursecompleted) or allow them to enroll using Self enrolment with a password/enrolment key enabled.
