Correcting a backup error/failure.

Hi,

I get the following message when trying to make a backup of a course I created on my newley installed moodle 1.5.3. There are only 2 courses on this moodle installation. It fails with the error messeg below? I searched the forum for this messge and found only 1 un-helpful reference to it.

I really need to move this course from my development server to production server pronto so any help is appreciated!


  • Creating temporary structures
  • Deleting old data
  • Creating XML file
    • Writing header
    • Writing general info
    • Writing course data
      • Course info
      An error occurred while backing up course start

    • Blocks
    • Sections

The backup did not complete successfully

It looks like the error comes when it would be getting Metacourse information.

Just some things I would try troubleshooting, not that I'm an expert:

1. Check your course settings, change metocourse to no if possible.
2. If you have the MYSQL Admin for Moodle installed, check all the course related tables (course, course_meta, etc.) and repair the structure.
