LaTex not displaying correctly in STACK

Hey all, 

I have a pretty weird problem in my question. I am using LaTex to display some text in the Question text field of the STACK question. The problem is, that some of the text I want to display displays correctly (that is text in the beggining of the question) and some doesn't (that is text in the later parts of the question) , for example:



I have even tried to insert the expression via the Moodle Equation editor, but it didn't work either. 

Can someone please help me with that?

Yes, this is quite a common authoring problem (not a bug in STACK). You have misplaced "span" tags and other broken HTML, and so at some point MathJax basically gives up trying to turn the raw LaTeX in the page into typeset mathematics.
