I've written templates in the past that passed in $CFG as a variable to the PHP template renderer. I have since discovered that both a 'globals' and 'config' object are passed to the renderer too, which contain handy variables. None of the 'config' or 'globals' objects are mentioned in the https://docs.moodle.org/dev/Templates page. I could put in a mention of these objects, but was there a reason it (config) wasn't added, or just oversight?
