I can't answer your question, I don't know the inner workings of the Moodle Mobile App. My question is, whether its login process is fundamentally different from a browser logging in? I ask because SAML authentication works with both plug-ins https://moodle.org/plugins/auth_saml and https://moodle.org/plugins/auth_saml2. See for example https://moodle.org/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=430876 in the Authentication forum.
Or, do you want single-sign-on? Is there such a thing for a Mobile App?

it should work with the Moodle app without any issue, just take a look at this https://docs.moodle.org/311/en/Moodle_app_guide_for_admins#SSO_authentication_method so you can configure the app to support it (it will make the user to authenticate via a browser, instead of withing th eapp)
