Tall images won't work well in drag and drop marker question

We have a strange problem with the drag and drop marker question type.

Using a fairly large image being wider than it is tall, is no problem.

But when it's an image taller than it is wide, the nodes to define the drop areas will not work properly and cannot be dragged all the way to the image bottom.

We work around the problem by adding white space to the image, making it wider. That's pretty clumsy but it works.

Does anyone recognise this problem?

Also, on the info page about the question type the max image size is explained as 600x400. That is very small nowadays, and we use larger images.

Using Moodle 3.9.7
