I stumbled upon the neatest script! It's at http://www.craftysyntax.com/myscrapbook/index.php?section=9&page=21. I'll use the writer's description:

"Crafty Syntax Scrapbook is a unique graphical content management system that creates a website that actaully looks like a book with pages, chapters etc.. The program is written in php and uses a MYsql database."

Maybe I'm living a "sheltered" Internet existence or something, but this was the first time I've seen a website presented in book format and I found it quite a refreshing change. I haven't tried incorporating it into Moodle yet, but I think it could be used as a resource right out of the box. Adding the content, however, would require a second or separate login.

Perhaps some teachers might like the option of presenting material to their students in a book form?

Maybe the format can be used for journal creation?

You can even say to your students:

  • Lets write a book together,
  • Lets make a TOC,
  • OK, you five do chapter one
  • YES, one of you will be the chapter-editor, (it is already build in the program)
  • The others will propose pages etc..

You want more freedom? You take a wiki, for example eWiki...
