I am having an issue with LaTex code not working, especially in the middle of the question, such as below


is fine, 

However, consequently,

\[ f_{Y}Yes = \int_{{g}}^{{h}} f(x,y) \mathrm{d} x \] does not display anything

Further, the code P(X < \( {@apx1_@} \)) is displayed as  instead of P(X < \( {1.4} \)), with the extra \( { and \})

Further fYYes     is displayed as fY(thumbs up sign)

In Moodle, the various text filters that process content before it is displayed run in a certain order. This can be controlled at Admin -> Plugins -> Filters -> Mange filters. It is important to get these in the right order. E.g. it looks like it is set to run 'Replace emoticons' before 'Maths' which is a bad order.

Also, the list of emoticons is configurable in another admin screen '(', 'y', ')' -> thumbs up, is not good for maths, so perhaps get rid of it.
