Where do notifications go?

Where do notifications go?

Happy Wednesday!

Do notifications go to a queue somewhere?  I get asked fairly regularly whether or not a notification went out.  There should be some kind of queue or log that could be checked but I can't find where that is.  Currently, I find a user that should have gotten the notification and login as them to see if they received the notification.

Knowing the types of events you're looking for can be helpful in determining the best place to look, but if you go to your Admin block -Reports - Site Logs, it's a great place to start. Change the "all sources" filter to "CLI" (command line interface) which should show you all the logs generated by automated tasks. Then look for the "Event Name" of "Notification sent" -- it wont tell you what the text of the notification was, but at least it gets you some data... You can also in-turn see if the notification was viewed in Moodle as well.

Thank you so much for answering my question. I don't know why I didn't think of that.
