The Open University is running a short survey to learn more about the use of digital badging in teaching and learning. The Open University currently issue digital badges to non-formal learners and students via their free learning platform OpenLearn.
We would like to hear whether you’re currently using digital badges in your teaching, if so, how, or if not, if you’d like to.
We are aware of a range of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in the UK and Ireland issuing digital badges to support teaching and to reward ‘soft skills’ needed for employment. However, aside from forums associated with badging technology, there are no formal connections in place to share experiences or coordinate approach from the educators’ perspective.
The data from this survey will allow us to discover whether there is an appetite for sharing information and learning about the use of digital badging, both current and desired, and work together to improve the nationwide use of digital credentials in HE.
Hence, we would be extremely grateful if you could give 10 minutes of your time to complete this survey.
Your responses will help us gauge the appetite for sharing data around the use of digital badges in HE for the benefit of all.
The survey closes on 15 October.
With warmest regards,
Dr Patrina Law and Tyne Stanley, The Open University.
