Moodle Installation

Moodle Installation

Hi all,

What would be the best server distribution for a Moodle environment that’s used at a University environment with about 2000 users? Including the use of Moodle App and several plugins and Google Authentication?

And also the requirements for that server environment?

We have been using Moodle for around 10 years. However, recently we have moved to Moodle 3.11 and freshly installed it on a Red Hat 8 server but we are facing an issue since yesterday where Moodle goes down all of the sudden.

Your guidance is much appreciated.

SR

Are you asking about the required server spec or do you want to talk about the problem you are seeing? I suggest we explore the latter - obviously, much more information will be needed.

You could tell us what is happening and what you have done so far to investigate the problem?

Is that Red Hat server a new server or the same server that you previously ran Moodle on?

Did you get any error messages when you installed Moodle 3.11? Was it an upgrade or a new installation on that Red Hat server?

Lastly, what does "Moodle goes down all of the sudden" mean? What happens? Do you get error messages?

Have you checked your Apache and PHP log files for any useful error messages?

Lastly, you say you use "several plugins and Google Authentication". Did you check if those plugins are compatible with Moodle 3.11?
